Cell Encapsulation Movie ACAD design

Murine Embryonic Stem Cells flow in suspension in a microfluidic channel. this suspension is co-flowed with a digestion buffer. As the suspension and buffer are mixed with oil, drops are formed and the cells are encapsulated together with digesting buffer.

Single Drop Labeling Movies ACAD design

Large drops containing fragmented genetic material fuse with small drops containing unique genetic barcodes; at the same time a labeling buffer is added to the fused drops, enabling molecular labeling of each genetic fragment according to its drop of origin.

The coupling between small and large drops is a result of a difference in their speed along the microfluidic channel - the smaller faster drops catch up with larger slower drops.
